Chief Duff Thanks MED

I want to thank Medical Essential Diagnostics for saving my Life.

My name is Robert Duff, I'm 52 years old. I am a 24-year veteran of the North Hanover Township Police. In July of 2022, I was promoted to the rank of Chief.

While attending the Burlington County Police Chiefs Association meeting this past January, a representative from M.E.D. came to present about the medical testing that they conducted.  While listening to the presentation and reading the brochure they handed out, I figured that it would be a good idea to have these tests done. I had no symptoms whatsoever and felt perfectly fine. Coronary artery disease, high cholesterol, type II diabetes, and hypertension run in our family. While at the meeting, I went ahead and signed up for an appointment.

On February 1, 2023, I went to the Marlton location and had all the tests done. The staff was professional, friendly, and courteous. I was able to sit down with Dr. Chandler and I go over my family history with her. She explained the program to me, and we started testing. The tests took approximately three hours to complete. I was very pleased with everything on the day of my tests.

Two weeks later, I received my test results from M.E.D. via a follow up phone call from Dr. Chandler. Dr. Chandler stated that all my tests were good with the exception of my stress test, which she said had some abnormalities. She stated that my heart rate would not recover from strain fast enough. She suggested that I see my family's cardiologist.

On February 15, 2023 I saw my cardiologist from the Virtua Cardiology Group.  My family’s cardiologist took care of my father for over 30 years and knew my family's medical history. After he reviewed my test results, he informed me that the only way to get a definitive answer to this abnormality was to have a cardiac catheterization.

On February 22, 2023, I had a catheterization done at Virtua Mt Holly Hospital. The Doctor found multiple blockages within the arteries in my heart. That day, my doctor told me that cardiac by-pass surgery would have to be done.

On March 15, 2023 I had a successful quadruple by-pass surgery at Our Lady of Lourdes hospital in Camden, NJ. After a few days in the hospital, I was released and sent home to recover. Three weeks after surgery, I am recovering well and feeling much better.  The bottom line is that this program saved my life.  I had no symptoms and I felt great, but I was a ticking time bomb and could have had a massive heart attack at any time.

I urge every First Responder to have these tests done.

It truly saved my life!
