About Medical Essential Diagnostics

We at Medical Essential Diagnostics are committed to providing health services for first responders and essential workers. At our clinic, we provide several different cardiopulmonary tests to help diagnose non-symptomatic diseases, that may become untreatable in the future, early enough.

Essential workers and First Responders have always put our community first; it's time we put them first. Our examinations are rendered by board-certified cardiologists and pulmonologists whose goal is to provide care tailored to meet the specific needs of first responders, frontline workers, and any state employee that may work in a high-stress environment.

Cardiopulmonary disease is the number one cause of death for all types of First Responders.

That’s why we welcome all emergency responders and essential workers to participate in “The Save My Life” Program. We provide annual cardiovascular and pulmonary medical evaluations to our patients and their families to catch and prevent cardiac complications before they become untreatable.

Police Officers

  • It is crucial for law enforcement officers to partake in stress tests due to the traumatic events they experience on the field.

  • ABI/ PVR tests are highly recommended for officers who have formerly or still are smoking tobacco.

  • Medical Laboratory tests as routine procedure to ensure good health.

  • Pulmonary Functions tests to ensure the lungs are getting enough air.

Firefighters

  • Due to high levels of exposure from smoke inhalation it's common for firefighters to get AVI / PVR tests, PFT, Radiography tests. PFT assesses breathing capacity for the ability to put fires out safely and under difficult conditions. Radiography examines the chest and other arteries to check for radiation

  • Firefighters function in toxic work environments, constantly breathing in smoke. They are exposed to different gasses and are susceptible to dehydration. These issues are leading causes of cardiovascular diseases.

Paramedics & EMTs

  • It is common for paramedics and EMTs to participate in stress tests. Working long hours and constantly responding to emergency calls and possibly dealing with violent events can be stressful and cause a paramedic or EMT to burn out. At the scene of emergency, our first responders can experience traumatic events on a frequent basis.

  • It is also common for paramedics to get medical laboratory tests because of the constant exposure to blood and the stress of having to worry about contracting a blood borne disease.

Alarming statistics are especially true for both Volunteer and Career Firefighters. Nearly half of all on-duty firefighters deaths are due to a cardiac cause.
